In this video, I’ll show you how to use a gate in your mixes.
Gates are an incredibly useful tool in music production. That’s because you can use them to cut out the hum or buzz from a guitar amp, to remove the bleed on a drum kit, or to silence background noise like a computer fan in your vocal track. And that’s not all. You can also use them to reshape notes to make them punchier.
So in today’s video, I’ll walk you through each parameter on a gate plugin, and we’ll look at how to set them for different results.
We’ll also explore the differences between gates and expanders, and when one might be more useful to you than the other.
