Luna Tip: Versions & Bookmarks

This week, let’s talk about two powerful session management tools in Luna — Versions and Bookmarks.

They make it easy to stay organized and experiment freely without cluttering your projects.

Versions
Think of Versions like saving completely new copies of your mix — but all within one session. You might mix a song and save it as Version 1. Then you send it to friends for feedback, make their suggested changes, and save that as Version 2. Now, at any point, you can jump back and forth between the two versions.

Bookmarks
Bookmarks are like checkpoints within a version. For example, if you have two ideas for vocal reverb, you can save a Bookmark before setting it up — “No Reverb.” Then set up your first idea and save it as “Reverb 1.” Go back to the “No Reverb” Bookmark, set up your second reverb idea, and save it as “Reverb 2.” Now you can switch between all three at the click of a button — perfect for returning to specific moments within a mix.

In short — I use Versions for different variations of the mix, and Bookmarks for smaller checkpoints I might want to recall quickly or return to within those versions. It’s a great way to stay organized and keep your session management streamlined.
