The debate is over. The best equipment for music production is...Let’s discuss the best equipment for music production:

It’s only natural to want to record your music using the best equipment you can. But what exactly is it that we’re looking for when we say the best’? Perhaps it’s a mic from a top brand? Or maybe it’s the most up to date DAW? Could it be a really high end set of speakers?

Today, I’d like to present to you an alternative way of deciding what the best equipment for music production actually is. What if I told you that the best equipment for music production is the equipment you own right now. That’s because regardless of your current equipment’s age, brand or features, it offers you one huge benefit. It offers you the opportunity to start recording your music immediately, and that’s far more important than any other feature that equipment could offer you.

Start recording with the best equipment for music production right away.

The fact is this, putting recording off until you have the so called ‘best equipment’ is a risky strategy. As you already know, the more you record, mix and master, the better you get at it. So the quicker you start making recordings, the quicker your abilities will progress. An added advantage here is that the more practice you get, the better you will be at getting great quality recordings from basic equipment.

In reality, whilst we’d all love to use fancy mics and high end speakers, the equipment you own right now is probably more than sufficient to make a great quality recording. Your equipment is something which is there to aid you in your music making. But in reality, so many people let it do the opposite. They let theirĀ  equipment stop them from making recordings by assuming they need something better or different.

So whether you have a super high end studio set up, or a basic and cost effective rig, start recording with it right away. Because the best equipment for music production is always the gear you own right now.

So, I’m curious, are you hanging around waiting to get better equipment before you record your music? Or are you making use of the equipment you currently own and recording your music now? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
